Applications are invited for the following posts tenable at Mumbai :

 

1.

ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER (C) [LEGAL] : One Post [Unreserved ] ; Pay Band (PB-3) : Rs.15600-39100 + Grade Pay : Rs.5400/- ; TME : Rs.49,860/- ;  HQ : Mumbai.

 

Qualification : i) Bachelor's degree in Law with 60% marks.  (ii) Knowledge of use of personal computers and applications.

 

Experience : Five years experience as an Advocate or as a Law Officer in the Legal Department of Central/State Government/any large organization and/or legal associate/legal consultant in an Advocate's or Solicitor's office.

 

Age : Below 40 years.

 

2.

LABORATORY ASSISTANT (B) : One Post [Scheduled Tribe] ; Pay Band (PB-1) : Rs.5200-20200 + Grade Pay :  Rs.2000/- ;  TME :  Rs.18,846/-  ;  HQ : Mumbai.

 

Qualification : i) S.S.C. OR equivalent.  (ii) Two years ITI (National Trade Certificate) in the trade of Electronics with minimum 60% marks OR three years NCTVT (National Apprenticeship Certificate) in the trade of Electronics with minimum 60% marks.

 

Experience : Minimum two years experience in the case of two years ITI  and  minimum one year experience in the case of three years NCTVT after passing of trade course in wiring of electronic circuits, checking and testing of electronic circuits and making of PCB layouts.

 

Desirable : i) Preference will be given to candidates who have passed S.S.C. with more than 60% marks in aggregate.  (ii) Familiarity with use of PCs for making PCB layout. 

 

Age : Below 33 years.

 

3.

TRADESMAN (B) [AIR CONDITIONING MECHANIC] : One Post [Other Backward Class] ; Pay Band (PB-1) :                            Rs.5200-20200 + Grade Pay : Rs.2000/- ;  TME :  Rs.18,846/- ;  HQ : Mumbai.

 

Qualification & Experience:  i) S.S.C. OR Equivalent. ii) ITI i.e. National Trade Certificate (NTC) (60% marks) awarded by National Council of Vocational Training (NCVT) with two years experience.

OR

ITI i.e. National Trade Certificate (NTC) (60% marks) awarded by National Council of Vocational Training (NCVT) & National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) with one year experience.

OR

National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) (60% marks) awarded by National Council of Vocational Training (NCVT) with one year experience.

 

Experience: Should have experience in operation & maintenance of central chilling plants including accessories like pump sets, cooling towers etc.  Should have experience in maintaining air handling units, fan coil units, Valves, Ducts, chilled water lines etc. Should have exposure to the maintenance of package type units, duct able splits, window and split A/C and water coolers.

 

Age : Below 31 years.

4.

CLERK (A) : Two Posts [1-Other Backward Class & 1-Other Backward Class with Persons with Disabilities] ; Pay Band (PB-1) :  Rs.5200-20200 + Grade Pay : Rs.2000/- ; TME : Rs.18,846/- ;  HQ : Mumbai.

 

Qualification : a) Graduate with 50% marks.  (b) Knowledge of typing and use of personal computers and applications. (c) Candidates with better typing skills may be given preference depending upon the specific post.

 

Experience : Minimum one year experience as a Clerk in administrative matters and correspondence in large and reputed organizations.

 

Age : Below 31 years for Other Backward Class candidates and below  41 years for candidates belonging to  Other Backward Class with Persons with Disabilities).

 

5.

WORK ASSISTANT: One Post [Scheduled Tribe] ; Pay Band : (PB-1) : Rs.5200-20200 + Grade Pay : Rs.1800/- ; TME : Rs.15,780/- ; HQ : Mumbai.

 

Qualification : i) S.S.C or equivalent.  

 

Experience : One year's experience of working in hospital / clinic / physiotherapy unit – essential.

 

Age : Below 33 years.

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                         

TME : Total Monthly Emoluments.  

 

Higher starting salary could be considered for deserving candidates. Candidates are liable to be transferred to other Centres/Field Stations of the Institute, if required.

 

General Information :

 

Appointment for the posts at sr.no. 2 & 3 will be initially for a period of three years, including probation period of one year. Continuing appointment beyond the initial period of three years will be subject to the results of a comprehensive review and performance appraisal. After successful review, the appointment is continued till superannuation age, which is sixty.

                                                                                                                                                                         

Prescribed age should not exceed as on July 1, 2013 for the above posts.

 

Post/s for general category (unreserved) – SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates can also apply.

 

Candidates applying for reserved post for persons with disability  should be suffering from not less than 40% of the relevant disability for the benefit of reservation. Candidates will have to submit a Disability Certificate issued by the competent authority in the prescribed  format.

Incomplete applications and  applications  without  photocopies  of  certificates and  applications received after the last date shall  not  be considered.   Applicants in Government/Semi-Government/Public Sector Undertaking must apply through proper channel.  Applicants applying for post reserved for OBC should submit a valid copy of the non-creamy layer certificate issued by competent authority in the Govt. of India format (The recommended format is available at http://www.tifr.res.in/positions). Outstation candidates called for interview for the post at sr. no. 1 will be paid single Second Class return train fare and outstation SC/ST candidates called for interview for the posts at sr. nos. 2 & 5 will be paid single second class return train fare for the journey by the shortest route from the nearest railway station of their place of residence to the place of interview on the production of  photocopies of onward and return journey tickets. However, SC/ST candidates will have to bear the fare for the first 30 kms. both ways.   

 

The Institute reserves the right to restrict the number of candidates for interview to a reasonable limit on the basis of qualifications and experience higher than the minimum prescribed in the advertisement. Mere fulfilling the essential and desirable qualifications will not entitle an applicant to be called for interview.
